Project Overview
Bi3ochri required a stable customisable auction platform that incorporated the best features from other successful auction platforms (Trademe, EBay etc.) The website needed to be multilingual and be able to display any currency. DMD was also asked to present an online marketing programme specifically aimed at users in Morocco
Challenge
The challenge presented by Bi3ochri was to design and implement an auction website that met their criteria. DMD had to produce a design that was going to be translated entirely in French and that would reflect the local culture. The brief also included a full logo and brand design for the website and all stationary.
Solution
The website was implemented using DMD Internets proprietary auction platform, DMD provided Quality Assurance, Project Management and Administrator Training to Bi3ochri. DMD designed an auction website that was extremely user friendly and performed well in search engines. Content was organised appropriately so that information could be easily obtained by users. Complementary colours were used throughout the website for navigation and text. The website was designed so that it could be displayed in French and English.
Users register online and then login to access the member’s facilities. They can sell items on the website via auction or classified ad. When purchasing goods you can do this through regular auction, buy now or by responding to classified ads. Feedback is placed when a trade has been completed so other users can see what other buyers/sellers thought of them.
The website needed to have two search engines, a basic and an advanced search engine, a login facility and a currency converter. Users can ad searches to their favourite list or add auctions they are interested in to their Watchlist. Payment can be made through an integrated payment gateway with DPS for authorisation.
Bi3ochri took one of DMD Internets web developers over to Morocco for the launch of the website. Everything went smoothly during the launch and they are very pleased with the end result.
